SoundPro Expo 2017 described as “runaway success” by organisers

SoundPro 2017 - Synthax Audio UKThe organisers of SoundPro 2017 have described the show as a "runaway success"

Resolution magazine publisher Dave Robinson, who was tasked with organising this year's event, reported an excellent turnout of around 200 enthusiastic visitors. When asked for comment about the show, Robinson remarked, “it was brilliant! At 11.30am, someone said there were delays on the District Line. And, you know, that wasn’t what I wanted to hear, as the first-time owner of this event.
But, by 1pm, more people had come through Ealing Town Hall’s front doors than they did in the whole of last year’s event. In fact, of the near-400 people who registered to attend, 200 people actually turned up. That's a very good conversion rate."

“Attendance is up by over 50% compared with last year. We had more exhibitors than before. We had Vlad and his Fisher boom poles, which were incredibly popular. We had posh coffee outside the venue. And we had three superlative afternoon talks on post-production problem-solving, the tech behind Autumnwatch, and Foley for TV/Film.”

Synthax Audio UK's MD Martin Warr also spoke positively of the show, which provided a great opportunity for exhibiting the latest tech from our brands Appsys ProAudio, Ferrofish, Icon Pro Audio, MicW Microphones and RME.

“SoundPro 2017 was well organised" Martin agreed. "And the choice of Ealing Town Hall as venue is appropriate as a midway point between Soho, various broadcast locations in London and the film studios to the west."

"After the first half hour or so the attendees started arriving, and from that point on we never stopped talking all day on the Synthax stand. The show was noticeably busier than when we last attended a couple of years ago (as proven by Resolution’s attendance figures), and it goes without saying that the attendees are all of the highest
caliber."

"We managed to reacquaint with several old friends, but also met a good number of new contacts in the industry, which made the day extremely worthwhile. This kind of show ticks all the right boxes for us."

Synthax UK's product manager Rob Masters was also in attendance, who commented on the show's potential for introducing visitors to a diverse range of audio solutions, such as Swiss manufacturer Appsys's format converters, and the new mobile Binaural recording kit from Chinese microphone specialist MicW. “One of the things we demonstrated at the show was the versatility of our equipment" Rob added. "In this respect the Appsys Multiverter, which is now available with sample rate conversion (SRC), received notable attention for its abilities as a ‘universal translator’ between different digital protocols.”
