(Pro Tools 2020.6)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<html>\n<body>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Pro-Tools-32-channel-limit-64-RME-Synthax-Audio-UK.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-31297 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Pro-Tools-32-channel-limit-64-RME-Synthax-Audio-UK.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"197\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Pro-Tools-32-channel-limit-64-RME-Synthax-Audio-UK.jpg 724w, https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Pro-Tools-32-channel-limit-64-RME-Synthax-Audio-UK-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/a>The release of Pro Tools 2020.6 allows up to 64 channels of audio with 3<sup>rd<\/sup> party audio interfaces.<\/h3>\n<p>Avid recently announced the release of Pro Tools 2020.6, bringing with it a host of new updates including support for M1 Macs (Via Rosetta 2) and H.265\/HVEC Video.<\/p>\n<p>The big news for RME users however, is that the long-standing 32-channel I\/O limitation when using non-Avid hardware has finally been extended to 64 channels of I\/O.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Cull, Sales Support Engineer for Synthax Audio UK says &#8220;It&#8217;s no secret that Avid have traditionally made things a bit difficult for engineers using third-party Core Audio and ASIO interfaces with Pro Tools, restricting its I\/O to 32ch in and 32ch out (unless you use their HDX hardware).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Many people on the <a title=\"RME User Forums - forum.rme-audio.de\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/forum.rme-audio.de\/\">RME forums<\/a> have been asking about a solution that allows users to change the channel order on RME devices, so that they can choose which channels Pro Tools can see. The only current workaround involves using <a title=\"RME Audio on YouTube - Easy Setup of Loopback in TotalMix FX\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Xpt7LczeAvU\">TotalMix FX&#8217;s Loopback<\/a> feature, which isn&#8217;t the most elegant solution and reduces the channels available on some of our larger audio interfaces.&#8221;<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/RME-Fireface-UFX-RME-Digiface-Dante-Audio-Interface-SoundPro-2019-Synthax-Audio-UK.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/RME-Fireface-UFX-RME-Digiface-Dante-Audio-Interface-SoundPro-2019-Synthax-Audio-UK.jpg\" alt=\"RME Fireface UFX+ &#038;
