Having tested all three options for <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"True Foxes - Live Music, Band, Cornish Singers\" href=\"https:\/\/truefoxesmusic.co.uk\/\">singer Amie&#8217;s<\/a> voice, Gareth settled on this setting (as well as for the tambourine).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen it came to recording vocals, we auditioned the three voices to see what suited Amie\u2019s vocal &#8211; and the track &#8211; the best. Amie\u2019s voice was a little sibilant on the forward setting, but the gentle setting smoothed this out great.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Equally for the tambourine recording, the Gentle voicing helped to remove \u201cthe abrasiveness you often get when close miking tambourine\u201d.<\/p>\n    <p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Lauten-Audio-Eden-LT-386-Harmonic-Sound-Shaping-Options-Synthax-Audio-UK.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-2\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-35351\" src=\"https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Lauten-Audio-Eden-LT-386-Harmonic-Sound-Shaping-Options-Synthax-Audio-UK.jpg\" alt=\"Lauten Audio Eden LT-386 - Harmonic Sound Shaping Options - Synthax Audio UK\" width=\"401\" height=\"344\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Lauten-Audio-Eden-LT-386-Harmonic-Sound-Shaping-Options-Synthax-Audio-UK.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Lauten-Audio-Eden-LT-386-Harmonic-Sound-Shaping-Options-Synthax-Audio-UK-300x257.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Lauten-Audio-Eden-LT-386-Harmonic-Sound-Shaping-Options-Synthax-Audio-UK-768x659.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 401px) 100vw, 401px\" \/><\/a>Harmonic Sound Shaping<\/h4>\n<p>Along with the three different voices, the Lauten Eden features two high-pass filter options to provide further sound shaping capabilities, which Gareth tested throughout the recording process.<\/p>\n<p>The Soft or \u201cKick-Shaper\u201d setting helps to reduce \u201coverbearing\u201d low end frequencies. Whilst this may seem counterintuitive on a kick, the Soft setting\u2019s steep low roll-off helps to remove any low-end boominess which can detract from the sound of the bass drum, something that Gareth was highly impressed by.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt first, I was a bit unsure as to why a high-pass filter would be designed specifically with the bass drum in mind, as it\u2019s one of the few sound sources I wouldn\u2019t filter any low-end from,\u201d Gareth writes. \u201cThe microphone was in cardioid mode, and I auditioned the kick-shaper filter, and was very pleasantly surprised as to how the filter cleaned up any boominess, but still retained the desired low-end thud.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The second filter option on the Eden is the Hard or \u201cVocal Shaper\u201d, which focuses more on the midrange and can help with improved articulation for vocals, as well as being useful for instruments that benefit from extra accentuation such as piano.<\/p>\n    <p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Polar Patterns<\/h4>\n<p>Alongside the voicing options and high-pass filters, the Eden also features three selectable polar patterns (Cardioid, Omni-directional and Figure-8).
