Many modern studios, both home and professional, blend analogue hardware and computer recording equipment to create hybrid production setups.<\/p>\n

Previously, RME have demonstrated how to route and mix hardware insert effects in TotalMix FX<\/a>, showing how to use submixes in RME\u2019s powerful routing software to add external EQs and compressors to a mixing session. Now, RME have released a pair of tutorials explaining how to incorporate hardware effects like compressors, delays and reverbs into Logic Pro and Ableton.<\/p>\n

Both Logic Pro and Ableton feature built-in tools that make it possible to treat external analogue hardware as plugins on any audio or MIDI track. Both Logic and Ableton solutions provide a simple interface that allows you to select the input and output channels, alongside adjustments for latency.<\/p>\n

In the case of Logic Pro, the I\/O utility also features a Latency Detection tool, which measures the real-time latency of the recording setup by detecting the delay between output and input signal. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
