Located a few miles up the road from the market town of Wantage, Challow Park Studios<\/a> is a fantastic purpose-built recording facility in the picturesque Oxfordshire countryside. With two control rooms and three live rooms, including a space large enough to record a 45-piece orchestra, the studio is also home to a great selection of recording equipment and instruments, including a beautiful Fazioli F228 Grand Piano.<\/p>\n

Most recording engineers will be aware of the value of using a pop shield when recording vocals in helping to tame explosive consonants, but the pop filter is really performing two jobs here. Along with preventing against \u2018plosives\u2019, which can overdrive the input and cause annoying pops and distortion, it\u2019s also helping to protect the AEA KU4 microphone from potential damage caused by saliva from the singer \u2013 especially important when using a ribbon microphone (not to mention one as gorgeous as the AEA KU4!).<\/p>\n

If you haven\u2019t heard about the Pop Audio Pop Filter<\/a> yet, you\u2019ll want to take a look at the company’s ingenious design. Created by two studio engineers who\u2019d had enough of weak clamps and drooping arms, the pair took it upon themselves to design their own – one that could withstand the rigours of daily studio usage. Featuring an incredibly strong yet flexible gorilla-pod style arm, the Pop Audio Pop Filter also has interchangeable filters for easy replacement.<\/p>\n

The Pop Audio Studio Edition<\/a> ships with all three different filter types, meaning that you\u2019re covered for any recording situation; a foam filter which is designed to be completely transparent; a fabric filter which is based on the traditional dual-fabric model used by most manufacturers; and a rugged metal filter built for life on the road. Because the filters are interchangeable, they\u2019re also very easy to clean. Replacement filters can also be bought individually, so if you lose or damage one you won\u2019t have to replace the entire product.<\/p>\n
