Jim Chancellor & Martin Warr<\/p><\/div>\n

The 6th Music Producers Guild Awards was held at the Park Plaza Riverbank hotel last week to recognize and honour some of the record industries’ most talented engineers, producers and artistes. There were also awards for those who had made outstanding contributions to our industry.<\/p>\n

The evening was hosted by comedian Rich Hall and there were many guest award presenters including Bill Wyman and Seal.<\/p>\n

There was also a surprise performance from \u201cThe Outstanding Contribution to UK Music\u201d winner, the legendary Trevor Horn who had formed a supergroup for the evening. The band included original 10cc member Lol Cr\u00e8me, founder member of \u201cArt Of Noise\u201d and Grammy, Oscar and Brits winner Ann Dudley, drummer Ash Soan, producer Steve Lipson and special guest Seal. They treated us to a string Horns hits including \u201cTwo Tribes\u201d (Frankie Goes to Hollywood), \u201cSlave to the Rhythm\u201d (Grace Jones), \u201cCrazy\u201d (Seal) and his very own \u201cVideo Killed the Radio Star\u201d.<\/p>\n

RME also made their debut as the sponsor for the A&R category. Synthax Audio UK<\/a> MD, Martin Warr, made the presentation to Fiction Records Jim Chancellor, who has been credited for finding such acts as \u201cSnow Patrol\u201d.
