Richard Russell collects the “MPG Inspiration Award”, on behalf of Damon Alburn, from Martin Warr of Synthax Audio UK<\/p><\/div>\n

The 7th MPG Awards<\/a> were held at the Plaza Park Riverbank Hotel in London last night and was attended as usual, by the cream of UK production talent. Singer, songwriter and now BBC 6 presenter, Tom Robinson, hosted the evening. Tom\u2019s love for new music and the industry is legendary and was apparent throughout the evening.<\/p>\n

We (Synthax Audio) were there for the second year running and were joined by Grammy award nominated engineer and producer, Josh Blair, whose undoubted talent also stretched to correctly guessing the winner of each award moments before they were announced!<\/p>\n

Martin Warr (MD, Synthax Audio) presented the RME sponsored \u201cMPG Inspiration Award\u201d which was won by singer-songwriter and Blur and Gorillaz frontman, Damon Albarn. As Damon was unable to attend, XL Recordings Richard Russell accepted the award on his behalf.<\/p>\n

The previously announced \u201cOutstanding Contribution to UK Music\u201d award went to Dave Stewart who later performed a number of old and new songs including \u201cSweet Dreams\u201d and \u201cHere Comes the Rain Again\u201d.<\/p>\n

We would like to congratulate all of last nights award winners and to thank the MPG for once again inviting us to support such a great event and for their great contribution to the UK music industry.<\/p>\n
