Having spent some time exploring the many features on offer, he gives us his thoughts on RME&#39;s finest sound converter to date.<br \/>\n<\/h3>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\">The RME ADI-2 Pro continues to receive both critical and commercial success, thanks to it&#39;s combination of flexible features like onboard EQ for adjusting the balance of headphones; powerful headphone amplifiers with 1.5 W per channel, cabaple of driving headphones of all impedances; and incredibly precise audio reproduction (including sub bass frequencies as low as 5Hz!). <\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\">The critical response has been extremely positive, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/uploads\/redactor\/SOS-Review-RME-ADI2-PRO-April-2017-Low-res_20_04_2017.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"RME ADI-2 Pro review by Sound On Sound\">Sound On Sound<\/a> describing the ADI-2 Pro as delivering &quot;similar technical performance to units costing significantly more, while offering greater flexibility and a useful suite of high\u2011quality digital processing.&quot; <\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\">We&#39;ve also heard great feedback from end users too, such as HiFi enthusiast <a href=\"https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/latest\/2017\/04\/28\/rme-adi-2-pro-robert-slowley\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"RME ADI-2 Pro review by Robert Slowley\">Robert Slowley<\/a> who told us &quot;you will be able to hear detail and micro detail in your favourite tracks that you just haven&#39;t heard before. I guarantee it will absolutely blow your socks off&quot;. <\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\">So we&#39;re pleased to bring you another user review, this time courtesy of musician, producer and mix engineer Phil Greiss, who&#39;s been putting the ADI-2 Pro through its paces in his studio, giving his opinion on the sound quality and comparing it with some of his other high-end converters.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<h4>\n\t&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/h4>\n<h4>\n\tRME ADI-2 Pro User Review By Phil Greiss<br \/>\n<\/h4>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Kudos to RME for their latest jewel, after a few months with it I can really say the unit exceeded my expectation both in DA performance +headphone amplificatio<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">n and functionality.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\">First<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"> with such a <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">powerful<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"> headphone amp, I found <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">low end<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"> information to be more discernable (not louder, not fatter, &quot;discernable\/clearer\/more effortless restitution) than usual, on the same pair of cans I would normally use <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">on <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">a different interface.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\">It allowed me to work at a lesser volume than I normally would if I were to make decisions down there while stuck with a pair of cans on the road or in a hotel room. To <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">me<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"> this was reminiscent of coupling a very powerful amp with NS10&#39;s (Like a 300W Bryston 4b \/ <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">sst<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">) in order to get a usable low end out of boxes that are normally pretty shy under 100-150 hertz when amped to spec (with a 60\/100W Bryston 2b for example).<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/RME_ADI-2-Pro_Perspective_02.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"RME ADI-2-Pro - Perspective - Synthax Audio UK\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3412\" height=\"217\" src=\"https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/RME_ADI-2-Pro_Perspective_02.jpg\" width=\"448\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/RME_ADI-2-Pro_Perspective_02.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/latest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/RME_ADI-2-Pro_Perspective_02-300x145.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 448px) 100vw, 448px\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><em>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.synthax.co.uk\/rme\/converters\/rme-adi-2-pro\/\" title=\"RME ADI-2 Pro Overview\">RME ADI-2 Pro<\/a> Headphone Amp and USB-DAC<\/em><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\">The restitution of the mids and highs were really precise and dimensional, giving me <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">way<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"> to make easy decisions when <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">dialing<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"> EQs and effects on a vocal while mixing at the studio. I ran the unit against my Auroras and my Lavry Blue converters, the ADI-2 Pro belongs in that category of converters. Great imaging, revealing low, mid and top restitution, very <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">high end<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"> conversion.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\">The game changing feature for me is the ability to correct the output of the ADI-2 Pro using the integrated very high quality 5-band parametric EQ. This feature on its own is worth the price of the unit because no matter how good a unit, the resulting sound is always subject to room properties\/anomalies and the ADI-2 lets you <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">address<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"> this directly from within the unit. I spent some time <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">marvelling<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"> at how bad some <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">modes<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"> were resonating in a particular room and how I was able to tame some nasty modes quickly, by ear, using a tone generator and sweeping in the problem area until the signal became <\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">more even<\/span><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\">All in all, difficult to look back after a few months spent with it&#8230;<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Great job RME<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><em>Phil Greiss<\/em><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Our thanks to Phil Greiss.
