\n\tTracktion Waveform has been given the thumbs up by MusicTech in their review, as well as the magazine's Value Award. Along with the name change (previous versions were called T5, T6 & T7), Tracktion's latest update to their DAW brings a selection of new features such as the Mixer window, Multi-Browser, Pattern Generator, Freeze points, Clip FX and the Modular FX racks environment<\/span>.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLongtime users of Tracktion will know that a traditional mixer was intentionally omitted from previous versions, in favour of keeping the volume and pan controls for each track solely within the sequencer window. The Tracktion philosophy has traditionally been about keeping a 'one window' approach, with everything visible on-screen at any time to keep the user experience as smooth as possible.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tStill, many users coming from other DAWs reported they missed having a conventional mixer, so the Tracktion developers decided to add one for Waveform, allowing for better control over levels and pan, and the ability to drag and drop plugins directly onto mixer channels. The mixer window can also be popped out and dragged across to a second screen if desired, as can each MIDI clip, which can also be full-screened for finer control over MIDI data than in T7.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOther new features in Waveform include the pattern generator and MIDI chord player, which allow you to quickly create chord progressions, basslines and hooks by choosing from a selection of musical keys and chord progressions, and can be set to automatically correct any misplayed notes to the musical key of your track.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThere's also the LFO Tool, which allows you to freely assign LFOs to any available parameters within the DAW, or even your VST and AU plugins. Finally, there's also the Multi-Browser, a seriously powerful tool that allows you to audition as many samples and loops as you want simultaneously, all time-stretched and in time with your project! Great for inspiration and adding additional layers whilst you're producing.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
