Ready-to-use in 3 simple steps
Built on proven Calrec technology for a wide range of applications, Type RT combines the best of Calrec’s Argo and Type R platforms in a ready-to-use, self-contained console designed to make getting started with Calrec easier than ever.
Available with 6, 12 and 18-faders, everything you need is built in, including DSP, control processing, comprehensive I/O, monitoring and integrated USB audio connectivity, delivering professional broadcast capabilities in a highly accessible solution.
Created as an entry point into the Calrec IP ecosystem, Type RT is ideal for users new to Calrec who want the confidence of Calrec’s industry-leading broadcast audio performance in a straightforward, compact package.
Control surface setup and configuration are managed through Assist, Calrec’s browser-based control interface, providing an intuitive way to build and manage workflows.
Purpose-built for fast deployment, the fanless tabletop console ensures silent operation, delivering professional live broadcast performance in environments where space, time and budget matter.
Type RT – your perfect introduction to Calrec – professional results and renowned Calrec sound, straight out of the box.
Step 1. Choose your console and DSP license
Available with 6, 12 and 18-faders, every Type RT model delivers the same powerful feature set, I/O capabilities and licensing options, allowing users to choose the surface size and DSP license that best fits their workflow and budget.
1. Fader panel
Like Type R, each fader strip uses the same control layout and user-configurable options, including the same fader information and metering display located beneath the fader.
Each strip also features four dedicated buttons and a rotary encoder.
2. Monitor panel
66 user-configurable buttons, six user-configurable encoders with accompanying displays, and three user-configurable ancillary displays, providing a highly flexible control surface.
A 4-inch TFT display includes two user-configurable meters, while four available banks of controls significantly extend its functionality beyond its primary role as a monitor panel.
3. I/O, GPIO & Networking
Extensive built-in Audio I/O including USB-C, GPIO and networking options provide advanced connectivity straight out of the box, simplifying installation and reducing the need for additional hardware.

Step 2. Set up and expand your workflow

Virtual Faders with Calrec Assist
Calrec Assist, the browser-based control interface, is included as standard and provides the primary setup and management environment for Type RT. With virtual faders, user-configurable metering and real-time, interactive access to the console from anywhere, it enables users to monitor, control and adjust their mix remotely with ease.

Soft Panels
Large Soft Panels (LSP) and Small Soft Panels (SSP) from the existing Type R range are fully supported, providing added flexibility and control. As standard, one soft panel can be integrated per 6-fader section, allowing users to tailor the surface to their workflow and operational needs.
Step 3. Choose additional I/O
Type RT includes flexible I/O connectivity with support for optional MADI, Dante and ST2110 AoIP workflows.
MADI: Choose an optional MADI software license for 64 channels in/64 channels out via BNC connection.
Dante: Choose an optional Dante interface card, with licenses enabling exchange of 64 channels in/64 channels out with other Dante-enabled devices on the network.
ST2110 AoIP: Choose an optional Calrec Medium Capacity Card, which allows connectivity with ST2110 AoIP networks and devices, including all existing Calrec AoIP boxes…

Type R I/O
Type R I/O boxes; easy connectivity to Type R's AES and Analogue boxes as well as the convenient Combo I/O and GPIO Interface boxes.

Modular I/O
Create additional connectivity with Calrec's NEW Apex M6 1U modular I/O box with 6 x I/O card slots, or larger 3U modular I/O box with 20 x I/O card slots. Both can be populated with a wide range of I/O cards.

Fixed Format I/O
Calrec's range of fixed format boxes are all compatible with Type RT providing a wide variety of options across XLR, BNC and D Type connections.

Gateway
Broadcasters who are using proprietary systems can benefit from the efficiencies of IP using Calrec’s SMPTE 2110/AES67-compatible H2-IP Gateway which provides an interface between a Hydra2 network and an AoIP network. It also provides bi-directional control between H2 consoles and IP consoles.
