Mark “Tufty” Evans is one of those producers/mixers who seems to have worked with everyone including the likes of Beverly Knight, Imelda May, Elton John, Boyzone, Melanie C and a long list of other interesting as well as obvious names. 

Mark, as you would expect, is very particular about the gear he uses and that is apparent when you look at his equipment list for the studio which includes a beautiful 96 fader Euphonix C3000 console, Manley Massive Passive EQ, Summit MPE200, Eventide H3000-D/SE along with a Lexicon 480L and a bunch of other high-end classics.

Lauten Audio launched their new FC-387 Atlantis solid-state large diaphragm condenser microphone at NAMM 2012. As well as Cardioid, Omnidirectional and Figure-8 polar patterns, the FC-387 Atlantis has a unique and very clever "voicing" switch. This feature offers the recordist 3 very different timbres, "Gentle", "Neutral" and "Forward" which gives an amazing range of variations for a whole range of recording situations. 

At NAMM this year (2012) RME Product Manager Max Holtmann gave us a run through the new RME Fireface UCX. In this video he tells us about the features on this new and exciting audio interface including the class compliant mode that allows multitrack recording on your iPad or iPad 2.
