25th January 2013 4:06 pm

iPad-RME-Fireface-UCX_1It’s been a year since the RME Fireface UCX was launched at NAMM and one of the key features that caused such interest was the inclusion of the Class Compliance which turned the UCX into the world’s first professional audio interface for the iPad.

It has become even more exciting with the launch of Apple’s IOS 6, which has added multichannel playback. This is great news, with more and more apps offering support for 8 channels or more. RME has now extended the 8 channel CC mode of the UCX to all existing 18 channels with firmware 220/4, meaning that the UCX’s SPDIF and ADAT I/O can now also be used without limitation.
