10th July 2013 1:52 pm

RME Octamic XTC - Synthax Audio UKThe RME OctaMic XTC is the company's latest cutting-edge microphone preamp, combining the RME staples of transparent sound and unrivalled stability with incredibly flexible I/O and routing options.

With so many different features available on this device, we thought it was well worth creating a video overview to show off its full functionality, which includes digitally controlled mic/line preamps, 192 kHz / 24 Bit A/D conversion, ADAT, AES/EBU and MADI I/O, D/A conversion for analogue and digital input monitoring, and full MIDI remote control via USB, MIDI DIN and MIDI over MADI. So, not just another run-of-the-mill microphone preamp!

The digital ADAT, AES and MADI optical I/O operates as outputs as well as full-channel inputs, which can be easily patched and routed via the front-panel TFT display – turning the XTC into a full blown digital format converter.

With quick access to all functions via the screen and control buttons, the Octamic XTC is extremely fast and easy to set up. On top of this, its complete state can be saved and recalled from internal presets, making loading up your previous mix settings a breeze.

Watch the video below to see for yourself what the RME OctaMic XTC has to offer.
