The RME ADI-2 Pro FS wins the Highly Commended Award in the ‘Best New Computer Audio Interface’ category.
Sound On Sound has released the full list of winners from its 2019 Awards. Paying tribute to the best pro audio products released throughout the year, the SOS Awards recognises the latest software and hardware developments, honouring innovations in design, technological prowess, and of course sound quality.
The winners are voted for by readers of the magazine, with nominations chosen from the products with the strongest reviews of the past 12 months.
And we’re pleased to report that the RME ADI-2 Pro FS, RME’s flagship 2-channel AD/DA converter and headphone amplifier, has been given the Highly Commended Award in the ‘Best New Computer Audio Interface’ category!
In the magazine review, SOS’s Hugh Robjohns said of the ADI-2 Pro FS, “In short, every test I performed was unreservedly superb!”, and that “I can’t think of another two-channel A-D/D-A converter that can match the ADI-2 Pro’s versatility, and few can match its technical performance.”

RME ADI-2 DAC
The RME ADI-2 DAC also comes in AD/DA variant called the RME ADI-2 Pro FS. Featuring many of the same great features found on the ADI-2 Pro FS, the ADI-2 DAC is a crossover produce aimed as much at the HiFi world as professional audio.
A first for an RME device, the ADI-2 DAC also comes complete with a customisable remote control. Along with controls for adjusting volume, input selection and power on/off, the remote features four user-definable buttons (set to Mono On/Off, Loudness On/Off, Bass/Treble enable and Dim by default). In total, a choice of 21 different parameters can be programmed for precise control over the ADI-2 DAC’s long list of features.
An additional ‘AutoDark’ mode, which switches off all lights on the unit during playback, allows you to enjoy your favourite music in total darkness.
