Front Panel – High-Quality Inputs and Flexible Control
The PlayAUDIO2U’s front panel features four studio-grade XLR-combi inputs with 48V phantom power, making it simple to connect microphones, DI boxes, or instruments without additional hardware. These inputs can be routed directly into your DAW for real-time processing of vocals and instruments, giving performers control over their sound without adding extra gear.
Dual USB-C ports allow you to connect two computers (Mac/PC) or tablets simultaneously, enabling seamless switching between a primary and backup system. Switching can be done manually or automatically using iConnectivity’s Lifeline plugin — an invaluable safeguard for critical live situations.
Two CONTROL ports support compatible footswitches for switching computers, recalling scenes, or loading presets, while four user-assignable buttons provide quick access to custom functions.
MIDI connectivity is also available directly from the front panel, with both traditional 5-pin DIN MIDI and a USB-A host port. The USB-A connection supports a single class-compliant MIDI device, or up to eight devices when used with a powered USB hub.
For monitoring, a built-in stereo headphone output allows fast access to audio signals. The multi-function rotary encoder controls headphone volume and can instantly mute all outputs with a simple double-press.
The integrated display provides clear, real-time feedback on your entire setup. From microphone gain and audio levels to MIDI activity and system health, all key parameters can be monitored and adjusted from the front panel, with immediate alerts for computer dropouts or other critical issues.
Rear Panel – Extensive Outputs for Live Performance
Around the back, the PlayAUDIO 2U offers 24 balanced, low-noise XLR outputs. These connectors are chassis-mounted for added durability, making them well suited to the demands of touring and frequent setup.
The rear panel also extends iConnectivity’s advanced MIDI capabilities. In addition to the front-panel connections, you’ll find a second set of 5-pin DIN MIDI I/O along with three additional USB-A host ports, providing extensive flexibility for complex MIDI rigs.
As with the front USB-A port, each rear USB-A connection supports class-compliant MIDI devices and can handle up to eight devices per port when paired with a powered hub.
Another notable feature is the inclusion of a second RTP-MIDI Ethernet port. RTP-MIDI allows MIDI data to be transmitted over standard networks and longer distances, opening up even more options for routing control data to and from the stage.
Auracle X Software – Advanced Routing and Control
While the PlayAUDIO2U can be fully operated from the front panel, the Auracle X software makes configuration even easier. Users can manage audio and MIDI routing, configure RTP-MIDI, control USB host ports, and set up failover and redundancy.
