Appsys ProAudio Multiverter Now Available – Overview Video

Appsys ProAudio Multiverter - Synthax Audio UKWe are pleased to announce that the Appsys ProAudio Multiverter MVR-64 is now available in the UK.

Created by Swiss company Appsys, the Multiverter is an ingenious solution designed to meet the needs of engineers who regularly work with a range of different digital audio formats. Signals can be freely translated into a variety of the most commonly used formats, allowing for seamless integration of audio devices into a single system such as a recording or playback rig, or interfacing with any digital FoH or Monitor console.

For some time now, pro audio manufacturers have been choosing to use a number of different formats for distributing audio. Whilst this allows you to make up your own mind about which format you prefer, the obvious downside is that it restricts you in your choice of gear, and your ability to connect devices together. This can be particularly problematic if you’ve invested heavily in one particular format, as well as limiting your options when you need to connect to another setup, such as a client's or a venue's.

Why choose between digital interfaces when you can have them all?

Well, thanks to the Appsys ProAudio Multiverter you don’t have to limit yourself anymore, as this incredible device gives you the ability to route and convert between formats at will. Not only that, but it’s extremely simple to use, as you’ll find out in our video above.

Maybe you have a mixing desk that only outputs in MADI, but you need to connect to an OB truck which is using Dante. With the Multiverter, no problem – simply connect your devices, then use the display grid on the front of the unit to select which format you wish to convert to. Or maybe your setup features a lot of gear that outputs on ADAT, and you need a way of getting it all into your computer. You could combine the Multiverter with something like the Dante Virtual Soundcard as a way of transferring all of your audio channels to your Mac or PC and into your DAW.

If you work in live, then this is the perfect box for you. Along with its extensive format conversion capabilities, the Appsys ProAudio Multiverter also has triple redundant power supplies, and you can even power the device from 4-pin XLR battery packs. There’s also a built-in test tone generator, so if you have any problems with your audio feed you’ll be able to identify the problem directly from the Multiverter itself. You can also store up to 12 presets for quick recall, as well as monitor any incoming signal via the onboard headphone output.

Combine the Appsys Multiverter with 2x Ferrofish A32 and you have 64 analogue inputs and 64 analogue outputs, to and from any digital format you could possibly need! Other formats will also be made available soon via a breakout box that will connect to the EXT socket on the Multiverter. This means if a new multichannel digital format emerges, you can connect all of your current equipment to it! AVB and AES 3 are currently planned with more being announced in the near future.
