The RME HDSPe AoX‑D, a 512-Channel Dante® & MADI PCI Express Sound Card, is now available to buy worldwide along with its optional expansion cards.
Engineered for professional studios, broadcast facilities and large-scale network-audio installations, the AoX‑D offers unparalleled channel density, flexibility and reliability from a PCIe sound card, and the ultimate hub for AoIP setups based around Audinate’s Dante format.
Massive Channel Capacity for Complex Systems
The HDSPe AoX‑D delivers up to 512 inbound and 512 outbound channels via dual gigabit Ethernet ports, providing one of the largest channel counts available in a PCIe audio interface.
For users needing even more flexibility, RME offers optional MADI expansion boards (AoX‑MADI‑EXT‑BNC and AoX‑MADI‑EXT‑SFP), adding up to four additional MADI inputs/outputs plus Word Clock connectivity.
This allows the AoX‑D to scale seamlessly into large broadcast, studio, or live network-audio systems, combining high-density Dante AoIP channels with traditional MADI infrastructures.

TotalMix FX and Dante Controller Integration
RME’s TotalMix FX software works hand-in-hand with the AoX‑D, offering a powerful, intuitive, and flexible digital routing and mixing environment. Providing full control over every input and output, TotalMix adds professional-level metering, low-latency monitoring and precise routing to any Dante setup, whilst RME’s DIGICheck NG software offers an additional set of analysis tools.
When combined with Dante Controller, engineers gain a complete view of their audio network, enabling easy channel management, monitoring, and network optimization. This integration ensures that large-scale AoIP systems remain manageable, stable, and transparent, even in the most demanding productions.

Rock-Solid Performance and Reliability
Like RME’s highly successful Digiface Dante interface, the AoX‑D delivers extremely reliable drivers for both macOS and Windows, ensuring stable operation in live and studio environments. Its PCIe x4 single-slot form factor makes installation simple, while built-in features like AES3 I/O, MIDI via breakout cable, and a headphone output add versatility for any workflow. With ultra-low latency and precise clocking, the AoX‑D is tailor-made for the most demanding of high-channel count jobs.
Part of a Versatile AoX Family
The AoX‑D is part of RME’s new AoX family, with its sibling the AoX‑M designed specifically for AVB/Milan networks. This family of interface cards offers users a choice of two of the most popular AoIP standards, while maintaining RME’s signature performance, TotalMix integration, and rock-solid drivers.

The Perfect Hub for AoIP-Based Systems
With its enormous channel count, optional MADI expansion, and deep integration with TotalMix FX and Dante Controller, the AoX‑D serves as the central hub for any Dante-based audio network. Whether for large studio installations, broadcast facilities, or complex live setups, it delivers premium performance, maximum flexibility, and unparalleled control, making it a must-have for professional engineers and producers.
