London Colney, UK – RME have announced the launch of their new M-32 Pro AVB series of high-end 32-channel 192 kHz AD and DA converters. The original M-32 AD and DA launched in 2010 and quickly became an industry standard converter for many professional engineers and producers.

Taking advantage of the many format, feature and converter advancements in recent years, the new M-32 Pro looks to answer the growing demands within the recording, broadcast, immersive sound, live and installation markets.

AVB — The Future of Audio Networking

In addition to the two fully equipped MADI I/O’s including separate signal routing, the new M-32 Pro AD and M-32 Pro DA feature an AVB interface based on the open network standards IEEE 802.1 and 1722.1, enabling transmission of the 32 analogue channels at a maximum 192 kHz via a single Ethernet cable.

Combined with external AVB switches, the new M-Series converters can be quickly, easily and reliably integrated into more complex network structures thanks to the comprehensive time-synchronous signal processing of the AVB protocol.

plus 2x MADI I/O (optical and coax) and AVB networking capabilities.

Reference Class Converters

Based on state-of-the-art, high-resolution converter components and a fully balanced analogue circuit design, the new RME M-32 Pro series offers a signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB(A) with extremely low THD values, which places the converters in the reference class.

Everything at a Glance

The combination of level displays and channel labelling fields conveys a familiar analogue feeling but proves to be an almost indispensable practicality. Using the supplied transparencies, users can create individual channel labels and securely affix them behind a magnetic cover. This always gives a comprehensive overview of analogue channel assignments.

Smaller is Better

Unlike its 2u predecessor, the new RME M-32 Pro AVB AD and DA comes in a compact 1u box with 2 fully redundant power supplies. Wordclock I/O (BNC) and a USB 2.0 for remote control are also present and there is also the option of MIDI I/O for legacy MIDI remote control.

The RME M-32 Pro AVB AD and DA are due to ship at the end of this summer.
